Railway Post & Group Recruitment Level

There are four types of group level jobs.
  • Group A and Group B (Gazetted).
  • Group C and D (Non-gazetted).

For Level Group A:

It is carried out by UPSC appointed through the examination of the civil service, the combined examination of the medical service and the examination of the engineering service.

For Level Group B:

This Group B posts like Section Officers cannot be recruited directly.

For Level Group C:

Group C posts are related to technical and non – technical issues such as station masters, ticket collectors, engineering posts (electrical, civil, mechanical & signal telecommunications), traffic apprentices and business apprentices.

For Level Group D:

These posts are from different disciplines such as Helper, Peon, Safaiwala, Man Assistant Points, and more.

Railway Recruitment Against Quota :

Sports, Scouts & Guides and Cultural Quota are opposed to recruitment by Indian Railway.

Educational Qualification Required:-

Postgraduate is required for group level A & B posts and for group level C & D posts, at least 10th, 12th or any equivalent fields are required.

Selection Process:-

Candidates will be selected by the railway recruitment board on the basis of a Written Examination. There is no other interview like Viva Voice after the examination. But Skill tests like typing, Stenography related to Assistant Station Master, Loco Pilot and so on have for certain categories.
